WHO WE ARE

Windstorm Insurance Network (WIND) is a professional membership association and annual conference founded in 1999 to offer education and industry insight to representatives from all facets of the property/windstorm insurance claims industry.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Our mission is to help property/windstorm insurance claims professionals better connect, learn, and engage with one another. Our goal is to provide a positive environment for all property/windstorm insurance claims professionals to share knowledge, industry insight, and helpful information to further develop networking opportunities and strengthen industry relationships. Together, we can achieve more, do more, and be more for the industry and consumers.

We are the only member association to bring together both defense and policyholder professionals to connect, learn, and engage on important topics in the property and windstorm insurance claims industry.

WHO ATTENDS?

WIND Conference attendees are comprised of professionals from all facets of the windstorm claims industry, including those whose day-to-day responsibilities are directed toward windstorm and property insurance issues. You’ll meet senior to mid-level claims professionals such as independent claims adjusters, staff and company adjusters, and policyholder representatives.

As always, the annual WIND Conference strives to offer a year’s worth of continuing education credits during our three-day event.

State regulations prohibit us from advertising our CE/CLE applications, so we are unable to provide details until credits are approved.

EARN A YEAR'S WORTH OF CE CREDITS

No audio and/or video recording allowed during WIND Conference sessions/workshops. No entry is permitted 15 minutes after the start of the workshop.

WIND APPRAISER CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

A training program for property insurance appraisers, the WIND Certified Appraiser Program® seeks to enhance the professionalism and ethics of property insurance appraisers. Upon completion of the four-hour program, professionals further their credentials by becoming a WIND Certified Appraiser® by successfully meeting the strict guidelines and criteria established by WIND.

Upon completion of taking the four-hour WIND Certified Appraiser class, registrants will have the opportunity to continue to the next steps and be listed on the WIND Certified Appraiser directory.

Certification Requirements

  • Payment of a $250 application fee (for a three-year certification)
  • Maintain current WIND membership
  • Complete a security/background check from one of the
  • Complete a security/background check from one of the following: FDLE (Florida residents only), GoodHire, or ClearChecks.

WIND UMPIRE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

A training program for property insurance umpires, the WIND Umpire Certification Program is the first curriculum devoted to training professionals who serve as umpires in property insurance appraisals. The program is a valuable tool for those wanting to further their understanding of the appraisal process. Upon completion of the four-hour program, professionals further their credentials by becoming a WIND Certified Umpire® by successfully meeting the strict guidelines and criteria established by WIND and being listed in the WIND Umpire Directory.

Upon completion of taking the four-hour WIND Certified Umpire class, registrants will have the opportunity to continue to the next steps and be listed on the WIND Certified Umpire directory.

  • Maintain current WIND membership
