Speaker Bio
Linda Knoerr is originally from New York. As a first-generation college and law school graduate, Linda received both her undergraduate and law school degrees from the University of Miami and has been a litigator for over thirty years.
In 1992, as a resident of South Miami, Linda learned first-hand the catastrophic results of a hurricane, having lived through Hurricane Andrew. In the aftermath of the hurricane she volunteered in homestead (ground zero), by assisting property owners with filing claims and preparing FEMA applications. She soon learned that this assistance was not nearly enough to allow the public to regain their lives. This was the start of her desire to advocate for property owners who had suffered loss and damage.
Linda, “the lawyer”, has developed a diverse civil law background handling complex commercial litigation, property development, property damage claims litigation, and business transactions. Linda has been the owner and manager of a successful law firm representing policyholders in the pursuit of justice for the proper payment of property damage claims. Linda handles cases throughout the state of Florida.
Linda has been successful in her desire to assist in correcting the insurance carriers’ delays, denials and failures to fully pay claims. Linda handles residential, commercial property and businesses in proper resolutions.
Linda has been an active member of the Florida Bar, Broward County Bar Association, Broward County Bar Association Bench and Bar, Dade County Bar Association, Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, and a Windstorm committee member. Linda is admitted to practice law in Florida, the U.S. District Court Southern District of Florida and the U.S. District Court Middle District of Florida. Choosing to spend time assisting in proper resolutions of disputes and to promote justice, she is also a Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court Mediator and is a Qualified Arbitrator.
Linda is a true family person who is proud to have raised two successful sons. She has a passion for dancing which started at the age of two with a love of tap dancing, and that passion continues to this day. You could say that dancing runs in her family as her love for dance came from her mother and aunt. In her spare time, she enjoys continuing that family tradition.
Linda has always enjoyed “giving back to the community” by volunteering for several charities and was nominated as Woman of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in 2019.
