Katie Carr Kopsco is a native of Louisiana. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering with a minor in aviation from Louisiana Tech University in 2003 and her master of science degree in environmental engineering from the University of New Orleans in 2010. Carr Kopsco was hired by NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in 2006 to assist in the fabrication of the external fuel tank and close out of the Space Shuttle Program at the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, La. Later, she joined the NASA team at Stennis Space Center. Carr Kopsco was involved in the refurbishment efforts on the B-2 Test Stand which was used to test the core stage of NASA's Space Launch System.
Since 2019, Katie has been an active public insurance adjuster and appraiser. She is a licensed adjuster and appraiser in LA 837026. She also holds adjuster licenses in Florida and Mississippi.
