Description

Mediation is a game where players with competing motives try to resolve disputes by acting as legal scholars, academic psychologists, therapists, grumpy advisors, oppressors, victims, and prisoners sometimes all before lunch! Led by a diverse set of multi-state practitioners, this workshop will utilize a novel interactive mobile phone application allowing real time feedback between the audience and panel related to effective tools to overcome obstacles that can prevent a positive resolution. Some obstacles to be addressed include (1) competing motives, (2) party crashers, (3) rogue participants, (4) the early walk away threat, and (5) bad mediators. This workshop will also address hybrid settlements and the latest trend used to resolve impossible cases.
