The focus of Geoffrey’s career has centered on the practice of structural engineering. He has balanced his career with both design and inspection of new structures as well as the assessment of existing structures. With over 15 years of experience studying and evaluating the performance of existing buildings throughout the southeast, he has inspected thousands of structures for damage or defects. He has extensive experience in the assessment of structures for construction or design-related defects, storm-related damage, sinkhole and settlement-related damage, and moisture-related damage. In addition to his work with existing structures, Geoffrey also offers design and inspection services for new construction including threshold inspections, private provider inspections, and QA/QC.
Geoffrey holds both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis, and is a registered Professional Engineer licensed to practice in all states along the southeastern US coastline, from Texas to North Carolina. He serves on the board of the Florida Structural Engineers Association (FSEA) Bay Area Chapter. He is also certified as a Structures Specialist (StS1) by FEMA and the US Army Corps of Engineers and serves as an active member of Florida’s Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Task Force 3 and was deployed to the Surfside Champlain Tower collapse. Geoffrey has been designated as a Florida Board Recognized Structural Engineer (FRSE) from the Florida Board of Professional Engineers.
